Deb's treatment begins Monday: 11/22/2006; 9:00 AM E.S.T.
Yesterday (Tuesday) Deb was out of bed and walking around her room and even participated in a game of cards with Dianne. She's doing much better and will have her chest tube removed today prior to being released today or tomorrow in time for a turkey Thanksgiving family dinner!

Deb will begin her 6 week regimen of chemotherapy on Monday and will be remaining on the west coast for the time being. The family would really appreciate any volunteers to help bring Deb to and from her treatments as she can't drive. Please contact Amy by email if you are available to help. We'll let you know as soon as she's released from Cedars.

We'd like to thank everyone for your contributions & suggestions for the blog and want to wish you all a very peaceful and relaxing Thanksgiving. We'd also like to share one special part of Deb with you too; the beautiful quilt she made for our new baby Andrea born in October.

The baby and the quilt are beautiful, and Deb will be thrilled to see both when she gets a chance to view this website.
Great news of the pending hospital discharge - Nala, Joey and Debbie will be so happy to be reunited. I wish the family a holiday of hope and love.

Hi Deb,
Some time away from the hospital, to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends, will be great therapy in itself.
I may not have much skill with a needle, but I know a gorgeous quilt when I see one - beautiful work!
Much love,
Gaida

Hi! I am wondering if anyone knows whether Deb will be going home once discharged today (or tomorrow) from the hospital or if she'll be staying somewhere closer to Cedars- Sinai?? Please let me know. Thanks!

Deb...I'm glad to hear that you're up and about. I hope you beat the pants off your mother at cards. :) Being home will be so nice.....your bed (sized just right for your height,) no hospital food, no one poking you at all hours of the night. I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope you're all able to rest and enjoy some good food before starting your treatment next week. I look forward to hearing about more positive milestones in this very hard journey you're on. Love you lots...Donna

OK-- I vote that someone smuggles Joey and Nala in to see Deb. Joey can be hidden in a bag, but Nala will need a disguise. She hated that clown costume Deb put on her but I'm thinking a Groucho Marx disguise might work...

Deb, I was so glad to see your letter and relieved that we have your blessing to continue with our jokes. I don't really like Mollie when she is serious.

So a joke about what a hospital food Thanksgiving dinner might be funny, but knowing how much you like food it might make you cry. So I'll hold back for now.

Take care and I know that I'll be giving thanks tomorrow for your success thusfar with the surgeries. More success is on the way!

Love,
Jess

Hi Deb,
I'm so glad to hear you were able to get out of bed and move about. I wish I was there to give you rides but you are in my thoughts and prayers always. Everyone at the gym is pulling for you, smiley, crazy cardio lady, pig 1 and pig 2! Keep the faith and Karl sends his prayers to you also. Happy Thanksgiving! I'm sure you already have nicknames for some of the hospital staff! Love you and I'll see you soon.
Luv,Mary

Debbie,
It was so good to hear from you in your letter. And good to hear you are up and about. And I agree with Jess, Nala just needs some doggie scrubs - no one will ever notice!! I'll be thinking of you - you are going to do great!!
